stats & info
Wonderland wasn't always this way. There was a time when it mirrored medieval England, albeit with a few magical elements: a few quirks and eccentricities that made it truly unique. While all feared the Queen's mercurial temper and the fine blade of her Guillotine, all was well, until a little girl named Alice Liddell disturbed the status quo and sparked a revolution. The kingdom began to fall into decay as the taint of the modern world invaded. History is beginning to repeat itself and no one is happy. As the Queen of Hearts tangles in a battle of wits and riddles with the Cheshire Cat, the rest are starting to wonder ... is it true that the White Rabbit is bringing humans to Wonderland when they themselves are banned from going to London?
I'm wrecking this evening already and loving every minute of it, ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring and it doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up I've never been so surreptitious, so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch.
Pierre is loud, tenacious, and oft times a bit of a drunk. He loves loud music of most varieties and even though he can't dance he still gives it a jolly good try. He uses that easy charm of his like a magician's misdirect; listen to sweet nothings and dance to my merry tune. Don't notice the man behind the curtain pulling the strings. It works well when his sticky fingers delve places they shouldn't. With a flair for the dramatic, he also has a habit of inciting emotional confrontations - usually with him in the center of the explosion. He doesn't have a volatile personality as much as he's capable of bringing it out in others.
He's a reasonably cheery guy on most occasions, and whatever he's feeling is almost always written on his face, in his hand gestures. He loves shiny things--he also loves puzzles, and especially cat-and-mouse games of all kinds. He likes to argue, though he often dissembles into nonsense and contradicting arguments when he gets excited. When he feels any emotion, he does it with every ounce of his being. He's blunt, and he doesn't understand the use of things like secrets or proper social conduct--best not tell him any deep dark secrets
Pierre is quite the pansexual fiend. A predator and a fickle bird both, he has a tendency to run after whatever pretty bauble flaunts in his path. Equally contrary, he doesn't always bother once he catches his prize. He isn't very capable of love in itself - though once, before the portals closed, Pierre found himself living with another in quite the serious fashion. He hadn't understood the implications nor the serious nature at the time and it's doubtful he understands it any better now. As it stands, lovers will be aplenty and romantic notions sparing unless someone dares to teach the bird-brain somewhat important.
I imagine Pierre has a load of these. He's quite good with people, a bit of a charmer if quite obnoxious and gaudy. If it wasn't genetically proven to be an eagle, his bird-half would have been a peacock. He most likely has many, many acquaintances, a few friends, and one or two close, serious best friends--i.e., the mock turtle and the march hare. He's always happy to add more, especially if there's alcohol involved.
Pierre can be annoying. That's a fact. He's also thoughtless in regard to himself and others. He rarely bothers with facts or reality before making wild, stupid claims and he loves to make a scene. Add to that his frequent drunkenness and the innate nature of a predator. When he makes a point to piss someone off, he gains another nemesis. No doubt he has dozens of enemies, even if it's only those who hate looking at his atrocious and gaudy appearance. I daresay even the mock turtle might get sick of him time and again with Pierre's awful hats--though that's more an opinion than fact. If anyone wants to be at odds with this foolish, cocky idiot he'll be happy to oblige.
warning, personality may tweak a bit once he's been put to use. Aka, he'll have better flaws once he's got a few threads going.
pierre bouchard — twenty-seven — gryphon — black — ostentatious
Despite the fact that Achilles has changed Queens, he is extremely loyal. In truth the only reason he's stayed by this new Queen's side is because she was his true Queen's sister. He still isn't quite sure what to make of her but he senses something delicious might happen if he sticks around. Though he is known as the executioner he doesn't simply kill everything he sees. Usually he reserves death for strict orders; unfortunately there haven't been many of late. His viciousness belies his intelligence, and his entire arrogant ensemble covers the truth beneath. He hates himself, hates what he's become. Not that he doesn't enjoy it. In fact, that's part of what he loathes the most. He loves what he does, the monster his mother always saw inside him.
The freedom to kill with wanton fury has only driven the stake deeper. He decided, yes. I am a monster, so I shall embody everything there is to being a monster. But there's more to him than what's on the surface. He's a bit of a control freak; of himself and toward others. He actually has a pretty reasonable hold on his temper even so. If he's yelling, he's not really angry. It's when he becomes silent that he becomes dangerous. But there are a few hidden things laying dormant in that cavern of a chest just waiting to be discovered.
Not exactly a word he cares for. Mostly he doesn't believe anyone would love him and so responds in kind. He probably has flings, a few sex friends - he doesn't hate all people, he's still a man - and he's fairly bisexual. Truth be told, only the crazies or the uninformed are willing to screw a guy with blood caked under his nails. But hey, feel free to try!
He has them. Probably. They're all either superficial friends, politically correct - some people this new queen doesn't want him to kill - and those he sincerely likes. He's not exactly friendly but catch him in the right mood and don't be an asshat or an idiot and he might just take a liking to you. It won't stop him from gutting you if you're on the Queen's execution list but he might just give you a smile before your head hits the dirt.
Plenty. There are probably plenty of "you killed my -fill in the blank-!" enemies in Wonderland. Also, he's not the most pleasant of people; he just doesn't give enough of a damn about most people to feign social expectations. Like manners. And being polite. Expect more enemies around the corner than the total sum of his friends.
Achilles Halden — twenty-nine — Red Knight — Red — Dangerous
Bailey is not easy to handle. Barb tongued and blunt, she manages to get on most people's bad side. With a teenager's handle on life, she thinks there's nothing left to learn and has it all figured out. But when she gives a damn about someone, she is loyal down to her marrow. She will do anything for her loved ones, be it a felony or a twelve mile hike in the snow with no shoes. She spends most of her time with friends, at her father's gym boxing, or trekking across the city for the hell of it. She has no skill with instruments, though she can sing on pitch, and she'd much rather get out of the house than spend a rainy day with a book or a good movie.
She's a seventeen year old casanova--she really works it with the ladies. Plenty of rumors flit about school: the latest scandals, the newest crass and public place Bay and an unsuspecting girl were spotted doing the dirty. Only some of those rumors were true. She believes in love, she just doubts it's as easy as those cookie cutter romantic comedies Hollywood keeps spitting out twice a year. She likes girls and she likes having fun. For her there isn't much more to ask for. Sure would be fun to watch someone try to capture her heart, though...
She might not have a whole cadre of friends and a long list of facebook acquaintances but when she finds someone to call friend, it's as binding as a blood oath. She absolutely loves her friends; one of her best friends, Aubrey, has been in her life since she was a child. Few relationships compare to that; but she never frowns on a new friend, especially if they have a crass sense of a humor and a taste for danger.
No doubt she has these. She just rubs people the wrong way, usually when she opens her mouth. Dangerous things, mouths. She is a very morally skewed person; she'll steal or vandalize, maybe even do a little breaking and entering--but she does not tolerate bullying or excessive violence against someone smaller and weaker. She is infamous for breaking a girl's nose because she called a sweet, shy girl a slag and to get out of her way. Suspension had been worth it. When she takes offense, best get out of the way or wish you'd never been born. In case you were wondering, she secretly loves nemeses. Bring it!
Bailey Blodwen — Seventeen — student — human — reckless
One way to describe Eun-ki is overzealous. What he does, he does with passion and commitment and all his focus. He often goes entire afternoons without so much as a glass of water or a bathroom break, simply because he forgets to do so. He's also clumsy. Going from an eight inch tall bird to a six-foot-two man really does a number on depth perception. Plus he weighs more than he expects when he tries to move, and he often overcompensates for wings that aren't there. After all these years as a human one would think he'd be better at this--they're wrong. He's absolutely abysmal at not knocking things over, so he's often found cursing under his breath, picking up stacks of books and then knocking them over again.
When he does inevitably knock something over or run into a wall he'll lash out at whoever is nearby, blaming them for his own failing. It's a nervous habit. He really doesn't like being embarrassed or garnering any attention at all, especially negative attention. He has zero skill with insults, too. You--you looby! and other such nonsense threats and indignation ultimately fall flat. As smart as he is, he's better left to writing a lengthy note of loathing than speaking a short quip.
Eun-ki has probably made a few friends over the years, though he does have a habit of driving people away with his blather mouth. He likes meeting new people, though he rarely starts up conversations, and he does prefer to basically live at the Royal City's library. Even so, catching him on a friendly day isn't too difficult. He can be a bit prickly, teasing people or snapping when he's nervous or embarrassed, but overall he may have a nice group of friends to turn to when he's lonely.
Some of his predominate personality quirks cause him to gain a few of these. Annoying, for one. Know it all. He's also very protective of books and if anyone so much as dogeared a page in front of him they'd get a stern talking-to. That being said, being annoying doesn't make many nemeses. Though if anyone has a good enemy-worthy plot I'm all ears!
Hmm. Well, he does find humans attractive now that he's been one for nearly a century. However, he's never exactly...been with anyone. He's spent more of his time traveling the world than getting dates. Plus, how many people like to make out in libraries? Or with someone who never stops talking when he gets excited? While his heart is pure and delicate, that doesn't mean he can't fall in love. He doesn't have any preference on gender or sexuality, he simply feels what he feels when it happens. But if he does find someone to love, they will have his whole heart, body and soul. He is extremely loyal and will cherish someone until his dying day. He secretly reads romance novels when no one is looking and he's memorized a few "courtship" ideas. You know. Just in case.
Emancipate me | Free the animal, free the animal | I love you so I'm putting you in quicksand | You take your chances when you kiss the hitman | The animal's inside of this infinite jest | Loving you to death
pierre - PEPE!!!! He is ruby's pepe and pepe shall be ruby's partner in crime of all things shiny and cheerful!
achilles - ruby isn't necessarily afraid of the red knight, she just doesn't want to get to know his blade. i think if these two ran into each other, it would be interesting and unusual...thoughts?
bailey - not applicable
Lael & Taylor's Fools
pierre - not applicable
achilles - not applicable
bailey - Lael finds bailey's spunk to be quite endearing and she is fond of her as a student. I think as far as teacher and student go, these two would likely get along just fine. She would make sure that Bailey's spirit is never squashed, because it is a thing of glory and she plans on making sure it stays that way.
Tempest & Taylor's Fools
pierre - Tempest would likely not be very fond of Pierre. He's too loud and brash, a bit annoying and the fact that he lost his form, which was the only good thing about him, is sad. Not weep tears for you sad but pathetic sad. Tempest isn't very nice...i doubt these two would get on well. Thoughts?
achilles - Chilly dear...try not to over think this will you? Can't have your brain killing you before Tempest gets a chance to. I love their relationship, it's brilliant and complicated and entirely screwed up beyond all belief. She tries to kill him or screw him, or both, on a weekly basis and yet it's only because she actually is fond of him. Not that she would ever say so even under torture. I think there is something about him that she finds fascinating, which is rare. So many people bore her to death, it's good for her to have a play thing that's actually stimulating.
maeve & achilles i would say these two have no clue about each other yet, she has heard of him but only by a mention of name? anyway, given the naïve little thing she is and if he ever gets wind of her he could come pay a visit to her office and start manipulating her if he so wished.
maeve & bailey no one quite drives her up the wall as bailey once she arrives in wonderland. yeah sure, maeve helps the overlanders adapt to wonderland but in bailey's case she regrets it but that doesn't mean she tries to help the girl. she would warn the girl though not to open her mouth as much as it may get her a powerful enemy or two.
So I kind of cherish his personality and so would Sophie. I kind of see her trying to calm him down in some quirky, strange way if anything upsets him. And they can have some kind of unique friendship where they don't really understand each other, but still understand each other in silence, you know? I think Sophie would really like to hear him talking about books and stories, although she might be much of a reader, she loves listening to people and their passions. Please let me know!
They could make the most adorable of friends! If Sophie can tolerate him, he would go on and on about books and adventures across the portal. He likes people, he just sometimes forgets to let them get a word in lol so feel free to interrupt him all the time Sophie! We should definitely thread these two! If you'd like to make one for them somewhere he'd be happy to stumble into her life ^___^
